Benita Williams, Deputy Director:
B.A. in Psychology; A &T University. Responsible for program and resource development, nursing home transitions oversight, and the Shabazz Center representative on the housing coalition.
Laura Miller-Washington, Assistant Director:
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Has an employment background in bookkeeping and administration. Responsible for financial management, office management and human resources.
Cindy Godwin, Disability Advocate (Rockingham and Caswell Counties):
Responsible for individual advocacy, community advocacy, peer counseling, independent living skills training, housing assistance and information and referrals.
Jane McDaniels, Disability Advocate (Guilford County):
Associates Degree in Business Administration. Responsible for individual advocacy, community advocacy, peer counseling, independent living skills training, housing assistance, and information and referrals.
Disability Advocate (Alamance and Randolph Counties):
Responsible for individual advocacy, community advocacy, peer counseling, independent living skills training, housing assistance, and information and referrals.
Dennis Burgess, Public Education Coordinator:
B.A. Degree in Sociology. Responsible for educating the public on disability issues, making them aware of the concerns, needs, and rights of persons with disabilities. Also provides disability etiquette and sensitivity training.
Jeanine Moran, Disability Advocate (Guilford County) and Nursing Home Transitions Coordinator (All Counties):
Responsible for helping nursing home patients transition from those facilities into a community-based living situation. They are assisted with the establishment of housing, medical support system, personal care attendants, and overall community support.
Debora Kidd, Administrative Assistant:
Responsible for maintaining the front desk, greeting consumers, answering the phone and taking messages, and provide clerical assistance to the executive staff.
